ADVANCEMENT VIA INDIVIDUAL DETERMINATION
AVID is a program which prepares students for four-year college eligibility.
Student goals:
1. Academic success in college predatory courses.
2. Successful completion of college eligibility requirements.
3. Enrollment in four-year college or university after high school graduation.
Student Responsibilities:
1. Maintain satisfactory citizenship and attendance in all classes. Engage in model behavior and represent AVID with pride, commitment and integrity.
2. Maintain the AVID binder with assignment/grade record sheets or planner and daily Cornell notes in all classes. Come prepared and actively participate in tutorials and the AVID elective coursework.
3. Complete all homework assignments and commit to at least two hours of homework every night.
4. Maintain enrollment in college preparatory courses. Participate in college prep activities such as PSAT/SAT/ACT tests, field trips and college and career research.
5. Maintain at least a 2.0though higher will be required to increase ones chances for acceptance into a4-year college or university.
6. Complete 20 hours of community service each year.
